CAMAS FIRE DEPARTMENT COMMENDS LACAMAS COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION EMPLOYEES FOR LIFESAVING EFFORTS

March 4, 2009— The Camas Fire Department awarded Citizen Letters of Recognition to two employees of Lacamas Community Credit Union (LCCU) for their role in aiding a member who was stricken with a medical emergency. LCCU Member Service Representative Jennifer Ernst of Camas was assisting a credit union member over the phone when she realized that he was suffering a medical emergency. Ernst enlisted the help of her supervisor, Rebecca Kapus. The LCCU staff contacted the Camas Police Department and asked for them to check on the welfare of the member, who needed immediate medical attention.

The Camas Fire Department’s Letter of Recognition states that Jennifer Ernst and Becky Kapus “worked as a team and went above what was required of them. They took immediate action to have the fire department respond without any previous knowledge of the severity of his condition.”

“I applaud our staff’s proactive response to this member’s needs and their care and concern in getting him assistance. Because of this, the Camas Fire Department was able to respond and attend to our member’s medical needs, said Kathleen Romane, President/CEO. “LCCU is fortunate to have staff members who go above and beyond to work in our members’ best interests.”
