Vancouver, WA – Neighbors are invited to attend an informal gathering at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9 to celebrate last year’s completion of Oak Grove Neighborhood Park.
The dedication event and free brunch will take place in the park, rain or shine, which is located on Northeast 159th Avenue at Northeast 70th Street in the Heritage area.
The event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a free neighborhood brunch sponsored by the Heritage Neighborhood Association, Sunrise Bagels and More, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
Construction of this 4.2-acre neighborhood park was completed in late fall 2008. The new park features a loop trail, a playground, a skateboarding spot, a basketball half court, an informal irrigated open lawn play area, a picnic area, benches, and landscaping.
Park impact fees, which are paid whenever a new residential property is developed, and the real estate excise tax, which is paid whenever property is sold, funded design and construction of Oak Grove Neighborhood Park. The Greater Clark Parks District, a special district approved and funded by voters in the unincorporated urban area of Clark County in 2005, funds maintenance.
For more information about this event, please call Jilayne Jordan at 360-397-6118 ext. 4949, or visit the project Web page: www.clarkparks.org/projects/oakgrove.htm.
