City calls for applicants to fill vacancies on Salary Review Commission

The City of Vancouver is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Salary Review Commission. This five-member volunteer commission studies the relationship of salaries to the duties of Mayor and City Councilmembers and establishes the salary and compensation for the Mayor and City Council. Completed applications must be received by 5 p.m., July 21, in the City Manger's Office. Applicants must be City of Vancouver residents and registered voters. No city officer, official, employee or immediate family member of any city officer, official or employee shall be eligible for membership.

Commission members are appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval of the City Council. Each commission member is appointed for a single four-year term. The appointments will be made in 2009. Meetings will be held January-May in 2010.
