Pearson Air Museum Hosts Aviation Appreciation Class for Teens
Does your teenager look up in the sky when an airplane flies overhead? Has your teen expressed a desire about a career in aviation?
WHAT: Aviation appreciation class for teens at Pearson Air Museum
WHO: Students 12 to 17 years old who have an appreciation for aviation science
WHEN: Enrollment begins September 2. Space is limited. Classes will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 1 through December 17.
WHERE: Pearson Air Museum, 1115 East Fifth Street, Vancouver, Washington, located on the Vancouver National Historic Reserve
COST: An entrance fee of $200 per student covers the cost of material for the semester. Each student will receive 1 EB6 flight computer, a flight plan plotter, Sectional chart, FAA Regulations/AIM and Pearson Carrying Case. On completion of the course students will receive a certificate.
DETAILS: This class will introduce students to the science of flight with classroom study, hands-on demonstrations of model building and flying computer-based flight simulators. Students meet twice a week with emphasis on the history of flight, the mathematical theory of why an airplane flies, how pilots find their way in all that clear blue sky, and career building.
Instructors are seasoned professionals with thousand of hours of teaching and flying experience. Students will be given the opportunity to expand their horizons and learn the importance of air transportation and why airports play a major role in our community.
