Vancouver, WA – Clark County will close Northeast 172nd Avenue between Northeast 119th and 99th streets for approximately four weeks starting Monday, September 8.
The closure will allow the contractor working on the Hockinson Meadows Community Park project to widen Northeast 172nd Avenue for a left turn lane at the park entrance and to install a culvert under the road.
Local residential traffic will be allowed within the closure area north and south of the new park entrance (see attached map). Mail/package delivery, school buses and emergency services vehicles will also be allowed to access this area.
Clark County will post warning and detour signs. Motorists may use either Northeast Ward Road or Northeast 152nd Avenue as alternate routes.
Hockinson Meadows Community Park is located on Northeast 172nd Avenue at Northeast 119th Street in the Brush Prairie area. Phase one construction began in July 2008, and is scheduled to be complete in spring 2009.
Design and construction of Hockinson Meadows Community Park is being funded by park impact fees, real estate excise taxes and a grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office through the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program. Maintenance will be funded by the Greater Clark Parks District, which was approved by voters in the unincorporated urban area of Clark County in 2005.
