WSBF brings Tactile Museum to Vancouver

Vancouver, WA – The Washington School for the Blind Foundation, in partnership with the Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB), Safari Club International – Northwest Chapter and the US Fish & Wildlife Department, will host the grand opening fundraiser “Night at the Museum – Sensory Safari.” This event will take place Friday, September 5, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:30 pm on the WSSB campus. Guests will be able to take a journey through our tactile museum of natural history with the help of our volunteer docents, some of whom are blind. If a guest wants to experience the exhibit through their sense of touch only, we will have sleep shades available for individual use. In addition to the museum itself, we will have live music from around the world including the talents of Boka Marimba a dance band playing music from areas of southeast Africa. We will also have an Aurora Borealis light show and hors d’oeuvres from around the world. Come join us for a night of adventure and fun. Tickets for this fundraiser are $35.00. Contact Jennifer Tingey at 696.6321, ext. 177.

A special thank you to our sponsors: iQ Credit Union, Portland Suburban alumnae chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity, The Gibney Family Foundation, the Daily Insider, Red Lion Hotel at the Quay, and Printing Expressly For You.
