LEED wood certification up for comment

Public comment to the U.S. Green Building Council on the rating system for wood used in green buildings will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sept. 7.

The council is revising certification standards for wood products under its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system. Currently, only wood products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council are eligible for LEED points.

Comments can be submitted at www.usgbc.org. Research on the proposed changes is at www.yale.edu, keyword search “USGBC forest.”
