City seeks applicants for Design Review Committee

The City of Vancouver is seeking applicants to fill a mid-term vacancy on the Design Review Committee which will expire November, 2010. The Design Review Committee is a nine-member volunteer body that is appointed by City Council to review plans for building and remodeling in Vancouver's downtown, waterfront and Central Park areas. The committee goal is to maintain and improve the appearance and architectural tone of those areas, and to encourage innovation and flexibility in design. There are no residency requirements. Experience in a design-related profession such as architecture, planning or landscape architecture is desired.

The Design Review Committee regularly meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month, 4 to 6 p.m., on the 3rd floor of the 4400 Building, NE 77 Ave. Applications must be received in the City Manager's Office by 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31
